Ropes Course Safety
Due to a claim that our staff suggested that two people could be attached to one slingline and harness we are writing this educational piece to ensure clarity.
Navarre Family Watersports Adventure Complex and its staff take safety very seriously. All our team members are certified on our ropes course through a manufacturer-designed curriculum. They must renew their certification annually and pass both a practical test, which includes emergency scenarios, and a written exam.
All equipment has double redundancy safety features, including the harness, slingline, and two carabiners to secure the harness and slingline together. The harness and slingline are designed for one individual only, and the height of the slingline attachment is determined by the height of the individual according to preset measurement requirements. There is a 300 lb maximum weight limit and a minimum height requirement of 42 inches to participate in the attraction with a chaperone.
To be clear, the safety gear is designed for one individual. Therefore, the chaperone and the person between 42 and 48 inches tall must each be fitted with their own safety equipment. There is absolutely no option for the child and the chaperone to be connected together. Any individual 48 inches tall or above can go on the attraction alone.
We have safety signage at multiple locations on-site, and our rules and regulations are posted on both our website and our booking site. Our team conducts a thorough safety check and briefing with every participant. Please review our rules prior to participating in the activity as they are designed for the safety of our guests.
